Cultural Memory Sites

The Kleist-Museum was included in the Federal Government's Blue Book as a "cultural memory site" of national importance.
The Blue Book, a list of nationally significant cultural institutions in the new federal states published for the first time in 2001, includes museums of national cultural heritage as well as institutions dedicated to important German personalities, so-called "cultural places of memory".


Working Group of Independent Cultural Institutes e. V.

The AsKI e.V. was founded in 1967 and is an association of currently 39 nationally and internationally renowned, independent cultural and research institutes which, due to their valuable collections, are particularly representative of the quality and diversity of cultural Germany. Its members are anchored in independent, non-profit sponsorship and have relied on a significant share of private funding since their foundation.


Working Group of Literary Societies and Memorials e. V.

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Literarischer Gesellschaften und Gedenkstätten e.V. (ALG) was founded in 1986. The aim of the umbrella organisation is to promote the multifaceted diversity of the various literary institutions spread throughout Germany and beyond its borders. The aim is to preserve literary diversity and to continue to give it the recognition and attention it needs in a world that has changed with new technologies. 272 literary societies, literary museums and literary memorials belong to the association (as of September 2022).



German Museums Association

The German Museums Association has represented the interests of German museums and their staff since 1917. More than 4,200 members and sponsors work together with the members of the board, the spokespersons of the specialist groups and working groups, and the staff of the German Museums Association's office to promote a sustainable museum landscape.


Museum Association of the State of Brandenburg e. V.

The Museumsverband des Landes Brandenburg e. V. is a private-law association of institutional and personal members from the circle of museums and museum institutions in the state of Brandenburg as well as their friends and supporters. The purpose and task of the association is to promote the museums and collections in the state of Brandenburg and to articulate the museum idea in public.


Heinrich von Kleist Society e.V.

The Heinrich von Kleist Society is an international literary and scientific association. It sees its task in making Kleist's work and life accessible through scholarly conferences and publications and in promoting the influences of his poetry, which continue to have an effect in the present day, for a wider public through artistic, especially literary events. The society was founded on 5 May 1960. Its registered office is in Berlin.
