The Kleist-Museum aims to multiply access to Heinrich von Kleist's literary and cultural heritage with the "Kleist without borders" project. To this end, it is seeking dialogue with various stakeholders, associations and institutions in the twin city of Frankfurt (Oder) – Słubice and the region.

Together, we explore new forms and ways of engaging with language and literature in greater depth. In doing so, we are guided by the cultural and linguistic diversity of people in our society, whose participation in culture inside and outside the museum is to be strengthened.

In addition to events and guided tours in several languages, the Kleist-Museum Foundation has supported and issued various publications for different audiences. In the choral project "Stimmen statt Scherben" (Voices instead of shards), funded by the Plattform Kulturelle Bildung with funds from the Brandenburg Ministry of Science, Research and Culture, amateur singers explored Kleist's most frequently performed work "The broken jug". The world premiere of the choral performance can be seen here.

With the "360° – Fund for Cultures of the New Urban Society" programme, the German Federal Cultural Foundation supported cultural institutions in engaging more intensively with migration and diversity and in creating new access and visibility for groups in society that have not yet been adequately reached. To this end, the pilot programme, in which 39 cultural institutions across Germany took part, promoted a variety of approaches aimed at diversity-related openness in the areas of programme, audience and staff. Between August 2019 and July 2025, the Kleist Museum Foundation was involved in the programme with the "Kleist withour borders" project.
